The Sharjah Police are investigating the death of a 32-year-old Egyptian whose body was found in a decomposed state in his room in Al Butaina area on Tuesday.
The man, who was a police officer with the Anjad patrol, was last seen two days ago when he did his first work shift.
The police received a call from neighbours complaining about a bad smell emanating from the deceased's room. Officers who rushed to the spot were shocked to see the decomposed body of their colleague, identified as M.A.
The devastated police officers shifted the body to the forensic laboratory.
The Sharjah Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation to determine the cause of death.
