A number of outpatient care facilities - including alternative medicine centres, dental clinics, ENT and physical therapy - are set to resume operations in Dubai, Khaleej Times has learnt.
In its latest circular to private medical operators, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) said among those that will be allowed to reopen are centres for Ayurveda, naturopathy, homoeopathy, Chinese herbal medicine and Greek medicine. The DHA suspended these services late March.
For dental and ENT (ear, nose, throat) clinics, treatment will be limited to emergencies and urgent cases based on the assessment of the physician. These include acute dental pain, severe infections, injuries and trauma, orthodontics, root canal treatments, the circular said.
All other appointments shall be postponed for public safety, it added. Physical therapy, chiropractor, and osteopathy services will resume as well.
The DHA said the decision was made in line with the gradual resumption of various activities in Dubai, while taking into consideration the commitment and full compliance with all precautionary measures.
Upon reopening, these facilities are required to carry out disinfection on a daily basis. Regular sterilisation, especially in reception areas, consultation rooms, operation rooms and elevators, must be conducted and documented.
"All health facilities (that will) resume operations will be subject to strict inspections to ensure compliance with the protocol for re-opening outpatient care services in Dubai," added the circular.
