A 34-year-old Egyptian accountant who allegedly lured a woman into his flat to use the Internet, before sexually harassing her, was charged with molestation on Sunday in the Court of First Instance.
The incident allegedly took place on January 2 when the complainant, a Filipina on a visit visa, was trying to enter her sister's flat in Jebel Ali at 1am. "I may have pressed the wrong button of the elevator. But I thought I was at my sister's flat. I could not open the door and I was surprised because my sister was away.

"I saw a man (the accused) in the corridor. He offered me help twice before I asked him for a WiFi connection."
She claimed he invited her in, offering to give the password and tried to kiss her twice on the neck. "I kicked him away and told him I would call the police if he tried anything with me again.
"He was apparently surprised by what I said. I realised that I was on the 12th floor and not the 22th. I then went to my sister's flat and called the police".
