Punjab suffered their eighth loss in 12 games and bowed out of the competition
Away from home
This is an ideal excuse expats can use to quit their job. As expats stay away from their family, they always have the window to go back home. The excuse - "I am feeling home sick and need to be near my family. This job gives me the money I need but I have a hollow feeling. I quit!"
If you want to be seen as a family guy, this excuse can be conveniently used when you are nearing the 40s as your parents are ageing and need you around. The excuse - "I am the only child and there is no one to take care of my parents back home. I don't have a peace of mind in this country. I quit!"
Money matters
Tax-free income is the biggest attraction for expats to work in Dubai. But if you don't get an increment for a few years the rising inflation may make your pay-cheque inadequate. In such cases, you could use this excuse - "I am no longer feeling compensated for the work I deliver. Either you give me a raise or I quit." You could strengthen your case by asking for an exorbitant raise.
Adventure streak
Every once in a while, you might have heard your colleague say, "I need a break from all of this" but rarely do they renounce everything. If you are feeling adventurous you could use this excuse - "I desperately need a holiday so I am quitting my job. I have this pressing urge to connect with nature and need to explore things beyond monthly pay cheques."
No longer a challenge
This has been cited as one of the most common reasons to quit the job. As you evolve in your career, there are times you miss the spark that keeps your excited about the role. In these situations, you could pass this excuse - "My growth is stagnant in the company and I don't see anything challenging my limits anymore. Money is not a problem but I don't find personal gratification in what I am doing. My personal growth has stunted and I need to move on."
Too many options
Maybe you are in a senior position with too many responsibilities and you cannot just quit your job and leave without finding a replacement. In this situation, you could pretend to have another offer on hand and the excuse would be - "I have been approached by two other companies for a senior role and I am going to opt for either of them." If your company still insists on you staying throw them an offer they cannot match and you are free to go!
If you have used any other excuse and it has worked, do share with us.
