The Dubai Public Prosecution has referred three Asians, running a prostitution ring, to the Court of First Instance to stand trial on human trafficking charges.
The accused, including a couple, brought several women to the UAE offering lucrative jobs and they were later forced to do massaging services for men.
The sex racket was unearthed when the police team arrived at a flat in Al Rafaa after receiving a complaint. However, the police found a group of women who revealed they were fooled into massaging job and living under threat.
Ali Humaid bin Khatem, deputy chief investigator of human trafficking cases, said the public prosecution gives great importance to human trafficking cases and are committed to fighting the menace.
The victims have been sheltered at the Dubai Women's and Children Establishment, where they were being given social care and moral support.
One of the victims recounted her story on how she was fooled to come to the UAE receiving a lucrative job offer. She said after arriving in the country, two of the accused (husband and wife) seized her passport, visa and locked her up inside a flat.
The third accomplice used to take her to their male customers to give "inappropriate" massage She had even faced physical assault. However, a sympathetic customer gave a mobile phone to help her reach out to police.
The second victim, 15, also shared a similar story of how she was lured with a housemaid job offer and forced into prostitution.
The public prosecution referred the trio to the court after completing the investigation and hearing the witnesses' accounts.
