Smart Gates that have been installed in Ajman will help the police monitor traffic violations and crimes, it was announced on Wednesday.

The gates that are powered by artificial intelligence will help enhance police response to emergencies as well.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Major-General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police said that the project aimed to achieve the highest level of traffic safety in the Emirate.

The police has signed an agreement with the Safe City Group, which will install smart gates that will enhance its security capabilities.

The project includes the latest technology and will be a major leap in improving security. It will contribute to security monitoring and will reduce traffic accidents and violations.

He added that the Group supports the Ajman Police’s endeavor to constantly develop security and traffic capabilities and achieve its strategic goals.

The police during the last two years has upgraded its surveillance and monitoring system which has contributed to reducing traffic violations and fatal accidents.

This project is part of the Dh35 million security project to ensure the safety of residents and achieve the National Agenda 2021.
