Taliban minister urges UN, humanitarian agencies and private business to provide support for those hit by the floods
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has developed a new application for mobile phones to facilitate the payment of car parking fees.
The new system has the feature of automatically recognizing the Zone Code of the area drivers intend to park.
“To ensure a top-class service offering to our customers, this state-of-the-art system has been developed and provided to smart phone users to enable them identify the relevant Zone Code to pay their parking fees in a smooth and smart manner,” Director of Parking, RTA Traffic and Roads Agency, Adel Al Marzooki explained.
He said the ‘smart’ car parking payment methods, such as mobile phones, Nol cards and prepaid cards, have now beaten conventional methods of payment by 60 per cent.
“Over and above providing the required service, the new system boasts several edge-cutting features that include storing the data of the vehicle in question to use as and when needed, and offering a list of all controlled parking zones in order to enable users to easily verify their parking zones and buy e-tickets, thus avoiding unnecessary fines.”
He said the new “hassle-free” service was part of the Smart Government drive in Dubai and noted the car parks were an issue for community members.
