Heavy traffic has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road on Wednesday morning, causing congestion for commuters from Sharjah to Dubai.
An accident under Al Maktoum Bridge opposite Dubai TV building was reported at 9am, Dubai Police tweeted.


Police advised motorists to take alternative routes to avoid any further delays.
In Abu Dhabi, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport took to Twitter  to report an accident on the on Sheikh Zayed Street at Mangrove underpass inbound. The incident, which caused heavy delays on the inbound lane.


According to Google Maps, huge tailbacks were observed on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road towards Dubai from Sharjah.

Slow moving traffic was observed on Sheikh Zayed Road's E11 - from Al Nahda street towards Dubai.

Other usual places affected by traffic include Al Barsha, Business Bay and areas surrounding Mall of Emirates.
