The Gold Souq bus station in Deira will be temporarily relocated to the Palm Deira Metro station from Tuesday.

Eisa Al Hashmi, Director of planning and business development, Public Transport Agency, said the relocation has been undertaken due to the need to build a new Gold Souq Bus Station. With the area bustling with business activities throughout the week, a new station is needed to accommodate the rising number of commuters.

Several buses go to the new site. They include buses 27, 17, 13, 10, 8, 4, 91A, 64A, 13D, 11A, 64, 53, 43, X94, X23, X10, C28, C09, C07, CO5, and CO4.

From July 1, the service will see other changes like shortening the route of bus C19. It will start from the Deira City Centre station and not go up to Al Ghubaiba bus station. The route of the feeder bus F8 will be extended to cover the Toyota Service Centre at Dubai Festival City while the route of bus 53 will be diverted to BaniYas Square.

Al Hashmi said public transport users would be kept informed about any changes or modifications through the media, social media networks, brochures, leaflets and text messages.
