Dubai — The General Department of Traffic of the Dubai Police has issued 264 tickets to drivers of vans parked on road shoulders near mosques. As per instructions of Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, 28 vehicles were confiscated for similar violations.
The police have informed the companies which own the vans about the rule and stressed that the driver will be fined Dh1,000 and his licence would be suspended if vehicles are parked on road shoulders.
