Ajman begins work on Musharraf Bridge

Following the opening of Al Humaidiya Bridge project, the Ajman Municipality on Wednesday started the construction of Musharraf Bridge at a cost of Dh55 million.

Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, said diversions and detours have been set in place to avoid traffic congestion. He added that the project will be completed in 10 months.

Khaleej TimesTwo more bridges will be constructed this year by the Ajman government in Ajman industrial area and City Centre intersection.

Shaikh Rashid said that traffic started to flow smoothly following the opening of Al Humaidiya Bridge project. He urged the motorists to be cautious while using the tunnels and bridge and to follow the instruction signs installed by the municipality.

He extended thanks to the initiatives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to improve the country’s infrastructure project which include Al Humaidiya Bridge, the biggest road project in the emirate.

He said the new bridge opened by the Ministry of Public Works would solve the traffic problem in the emirate and would contribute to achieving sustainable development based on instruction of the wise leadership in the emirate.

Shaikh Rashid said that the opening of Al Humaidiya Bridge is one of the most important achievements in the emirate this year and would help tourism and investment in Ajman.

He stressed that the municipality will continue completing installing of traffic instruction sign boards and other requirements to support traffic movement for the bridge.
