3,000 new parking spaces in Abu Dhabi

The Department of Transport (DoT) has announced the June 10 implementation of Mawaqif parking management for four new sectors in the Capital, comprising 3030 parking spaces.

The new sectors include the areas bounded by: Shaikh Khalifa Medical Centre and 2nd, 9th and 24th Streets; the Corniche Road and 6th, 7th and 32nd Streets; the Khalidiyah Police Station and 5th, 6th and 7th Streets; and 2nd, 4th, 15th and 17th Streets. Parking fees will apply from 8am to 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, except on official holidays. Hourly rates are Dh2 for standard parking (at blue and black curbs) and Dh3 for premium parking (at blue and white curbs). Full-day standard parking costs Dh15.

Residents may apply for up to two parking permits per household, at Dh800 for the first vehicle and Dh1,200 for the second.- news@khaleejtimes.com
