1,598 accidents during Eid in Dubai

The Command and Control Room of the Dubai Police received as many as 24,838 phone calls and reported a total of 1,598 traffic accidents, ranging from minor, moderate to critical, during the Eid Al Fitr holidays, according to Lt-Colonel Khazraj Majid Mohammed, acting director of the Command and Control Centre, General Department of Operation of the Dubai Police.

According to the police officer speeding, tail gating, not showing lane discipline and negligence were the reasons for the aforesaid traffic accidents.

Lt-Col Mohammed has urged motorists and road users to steer clear of such practices while driving and to exercise extra caution when approaching junctions and crossroads, to ensuring the roads are clear of pedestrians, especially at zebra crossings and in residential areas. — news@khaleejtimes.com
