Chinese tech brand's innovative product launch reaffirms commitment to creativity and fashion with new laptops, tablet and more in the UAE
Captain David Warner and coach Trevor Bayliss linked up with the members of the squad through video chat and gave them a bit of a pep talk ahead of what is going to be a long haul in the UAE for the IPL.
The franchise are currently in quarantine at the Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort and are keeping busy doing their workouts. They arrived in the UAE along with the Delhi Capitals on Sunday.
And Warner, who will join the Sunrisers Hyderabad following Australia's white-ball tour of England, said that irrespective of him being the skipper, each and every member of the team is a leader.
"I think it doesn't matter if you have got a C next to your name or not, we are all leaders," Warner said on the chat, released by the team.
"Every single person that is on this chat, staff member, we are all leaders ourselves. So, as long as we are trying to encourage each other to improve everyday, that will put a smile on my face and hopefully everyone else's faces," he added.
Warner thanked Kane Williamson and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for steering the ship over the past two seasons, in his absence.
"Obviously, me taking over, I just want to say thanks to Kane and Bhuvi. The last two years you guys have been outstanding for us and taking us to the finals and sitting back and watching was awesome and obviously playing last year was actually fantastic and gold and you guys, lot of credit to you, the way that the team has been playing cricket the last couple of years and moving forward. Nothing would change from that aspect for all of us," said Warner.
The 33-year-old missed the 2018 season as the BCCI had banned him because of the ball-tampering controversy. New Zealand skipper Williamson took charge as the team finished runners-up behind the Chennai Super Kings.
Williamson and his deputy Bhuvneshwar Kumar shared captaincy duties when the former was injured.
He also welcomed the new faces to the Sunrisers Hyderabad 'family.'
"Welcome to all the new guys. We've got a fair few there but you guys are coming into a great family, a great established family. We really haven't changed much over the last few years but welcome to you guys," he said.
Indian batsmen Virat Singh and Priyam Garg, all-rounders Mitchell Marsh, Fabian Allen, Sandeep Bavanaka, Abdul Samad and Sanjay Yadav have joined the team this season.
Meanwhile, Bayliss felt that the best approach would be to juggle training with ample rest and rehab, followed by team bonding exercises.
"I think it is going to be a bit of a juggling act not just with the heat but the amount of time we are going to be there all up," said Bayliss.
"As I said, it is a bit of a juggling act, trying to stay physically fit and mentally hungry. We don't want to over train and then be mentally fatigued and players starting to get injured. So, there are a number of rest days in there and on those days we will be looking to do some rehab with Mario (physical trainer Mario Villavarayan), but also some team bonding activities as well," added the 57-year-old, who guided England to their first ever World Cup title last year.
