It was a night to forget for Royal Challengers Bangalore and their skipper Virat Kohli after the KL Rahul show sunk them into the deep waters. And while admitting it hurt, Kohli said they will just have to move on and work on their errors.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore were floored by KL Rahul, whose record-breaking second IPL hundred saw Kings XI Punjab stroll to an emphatic victory at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Kohli couldn't fire with the bat in a stiff chase and the evening had already begun in the worst possible way for the Indian skipper as he spilled catches. Normally, a top-notch fielder at any given position, Kohli dropped Rahul not once but twice, losing the ball under the lights of the 'Ring of Fire.'
And Kohli fronted up by saying he didn't lead from the front.
"I have to stand in front and take the brunt of it," Kohli said at the post-match presentation.
Virat Kohli, Simon Katich and Mike Hesson admit it was a tough night, point out areas to improve on, and more importantly want to trust the processes and the hard work the squad has put in.#PlayBold #IPL2020 #WeAreChallengers #Dream11IPL pic.twitter.com/Ozr4wAXa7O"It cost us about 30-40 runs. If we'd restricted them at 180 we wouldn't have felt pressure to go from ball one. There are days when you have these kinds of things happen. We just have to accept them. We havve had a good game, we have had a bad game. Time to move on. We need to learn to plug those little mistakes," he added.
