Pakistan Terheek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has called for promoting trade relations with India hoping these would not only improve socio-economic condition of their people but also help resolve outstanding issues like Kashmir.
Talking to newsmen before flying to Kolkata to watch Pakistan-India cricket match being played on Saturday, Imran said he has been asked by team captain Shahid Afridi to guide his players and bolster their morale.
The cricketing legend said matches between the two countries are alway high pressure games which attract massive interest in both the nations.
He said the venue in Dharamsala had to be shifted to Kolkata after the statement of Himachal chief minister which smacked of hatred and malice. It is in the interest of both nations to shun such sentiments and promote goodwill and friendship among them, he added.
Imran said the Pakistan team should display their best and discount fear of losing the match. He will share his own experience of bearing pressure in such high voltage game with Pakistani players most of whom have great potential despite being young.
Imran will also participate in the commentary for which he has reportedly been offered Rs100 million for 40 minutes of commentary.
