The Dubai Sports Council (DSC) launched the new version of the smart application for the Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award, at a simple ceremony held at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) headquarters in Rashidiya, Dubai, on Monday.
"We are keen to create innovative practices and boost services. The new application of the Award is designed in such a way that it conforms to the latest developments in the various fields of work and ensures top level of communication with the sports sector, taking into account that such smart services are presented in a smart city where dealers and researchers get information with satisfaction," Mater Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA; deputy chairman of DSC; and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award said, after formally inaugurating the apps' new version.
Also attending the function were Khalid Ali bin Zayed, secretary general of the Award; Naser Aman Al Rahma, the Award's Manager; and senior officials.
The new application, which is designed in its first stage to serve the Award's nominees, provides the latest news, information and procedures services; including registration in the nomination system, submitting nomination files, downloading all the necessary documents, following up the application status and receiving SMS notices.
The application also comprises the smart voting service for nominees, to be added upon commencing the voting for the best local junior athlete, so that the public can participate and interact with the nominees as per the specific criteria, which integrate with the decision of the referral Committee and the approval of the board of trustees of the Award.
"We are keen to adopt innovative solutions and practices and enhance the level of services, based on the wise leadership's policy and government instructions to attain excellence and creativity, and support the conversion to provide smart and integrated services to boost the efficiency of work and enjoy the Award's services," Al Tayer added.
"The secretariat general of the Award is keen to implement the decisions of the board of trustees and put in efforts to boost the services and communicate with the sports sector via smart technology. We have launched an electronic refereeing and electronic nomination method for the athletes and sports entities, and today we are launching the smart application as part of a comprehensive process to develop and convert all our internal and external services into smart services that come up to the expectations of the users," said Khalid Ali.
