Dibba Al Fujairah have strengthened their backline by signing centre back Heo Jae-Won.
The South Korean defender joins from Qatar Stars League side Al Khor Sports Club on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old penned the deal with Rashid bin Mohammed Aboud, Executive Director of Dibba Al Fujairah, the club announced on their official twitter account. Ahmed Saeed Abdullah Dhanhani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, was also present during the signing.
Heo Jae-Won began his career with K League Classic club Suwon Samsung Bluewings in 2006. He then went on to spend a year with Gwangju Sangmu FC, the sports division of the military of South Korea. Heo Jae-Won returned to Suwon Samsung Bluewings and stayed with them until 2010.
He then had a short spell with Gwangju FC where he made 27 appearances. Heo Jae-Won also went on to play for other Korean clubs Jeju United and Daegu FC before joining Al Khor Sports Club.
Heo Jae-Won's current market value is pegged at ?400,000.
He joins Emirati players Mayed Al Mesmari, Talal Hamad as the club's new recruits. Striker Al Mesmari joined from Abu Dhabi club Al Wahda, while defender Talal Hamad moved over from Emirates.
Dibba Al Fujairah had finished 10th in the Arabian Gulf League last season.
Meanwhile, Saeed Rashed Al Khalifa Ktaibi, the Vice Chairman of the club said that coach Theo Bucker did not act professionally and added that the club would seek a suitable replacement. German coach Bucker had signed a contract extension with the club but then went on to sign a contract with Emirates. Bucker had said after signing with Emirates that he would look to solve the issue with Dibba Al Fujairah and will not drag Emirates into the matter.
