As many as 64 people on a rollercoaster were left hanging upside down 100 feet in the air for nearly two hours after a technical snag.
The shocking incident happened at Universal Studios in Japan when the Jurassic Park-inspired 'Flying Dinosaur' suddenly stopped mid-ride, Kyodo News reported.
It is stated that the rollercoaster came to a sudden halt and all those seated in it were stranded as the workers began rescue efforts. Fortunately, no person was reported to sustain injury in the accident that happened on Tuesday.
According to local media reports, rollercoaster's safety device was activated after detecting technical glitch and two separate carriages stopped - one during its upward climb and another before reaching the terminal.
A video filmed from a helicopter by Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun was posted on YouTube and shows the scary sight of riders hanging 100 feet in the air. The video also shows the dangerous rescue operations where the amusement park's staff workers helped people unbuckle and get off the ride safely.
Surprisingly, after the ride was restarted about two hours later, several people lined up for the rollercoaster ride.
In March, Japan's 'slowest rollercoaster' derailed and stopped mid-ride at Tokyo's Arakawa Amusement Park.
