After having his foot trapped in an escalator, a 3-year-old boy in China might end up losing his foot.
Daily Mail said that boy's condition was severe and doctors might need to amputate his foot.
"We stepped onto the escalator and my child suddenly said: "Mum, my foot!," boy's mother Li Yan told BJ News. The incident took place on Sunday at the Joy City shopping mall in Tianjin, northern China.
"The next thing I knew his foot was stuck inside the escalator." She added that her son's foot was firmly trapped in the tiny gap and his body was dragged along by the machine.
"His flesh was exposed at that point while trying to pull himself free."
Reacting to the incident, the escalator's manufacturer and the shopping mall claimed that the incident occurred as the boy wore very soft shoes.
The boy was immediately rushed to the hospital after the incident and was operated for four hours.
