The powers of the National Assembly will be assumed by the Emir and the country's cabinet, state TV reported
All confusion about his concert in Muscat has now been cleared and the ‘King’ Khan will perform here on March 31, organisers of the ‘Shahrukh Khan Show’ confirmed on Saturday, adding that special packages would be on offer for fans around the GCC to attend the mega event.
The actor’s ‘entourage’ for the one-day gig will include the reigning queen of Bollywood Priyanka Chopra, two top singers and a 30-member troupe of dancers. The show was originally scheduled to be held on February 17 as part of Muscat Festival 2011. But last week the Muscat Municipality, promoters of the festival, announced it had been put off without mentioning a new date, upsetting thousands of SRK fans in Oman.
“It’s full steam ahead from today for the next six weeks,” Rajesh Raman of Roar Entertainment, which is bringing Khan’s ‘Temptation Reloaded World Tour 2011’ to Oman together with Alive Entertainment, Light and Shadow Enterprises and HiFM, told a news conference.
Touted as one of the ‘biggest live concert extravaganzas’ in the country, up to 25,000 people are expected to turn up for the show. There will be six categories of tickets with prices ranging between RO500 and RO10. The venue is yet to be finalised. “But it will be a very big stadium. We are anticipating a crowd of between 20,000 and 25,000,” Rajeev Chaudhary of Light and Shadow Enterprises said.
“We expect people not only from Oman but from other parts of the GCC as well,” he added, revealing that the organisers were in talks with airlines and travel agencies on exclusive packages for GCC visitors.
Chaudhary said special ONTC buses would be deployed to facilitate fans from the other regions and wilayats of the sultanate. “It is so big that one company cannot do it,” Raman said, explaining the involvement of four organisations in the event, adding: “It will be a never before logistics experience for all of us, and one of the most expensive shows ever done in Oman. SRK is not just an Indian brand any more, he is an international icon.”
Shahrukh last performed in Oman in 2003, during that year’s Muscat Festival. Actor, producer and television host, the iconic star was named one of the 50 most powerful people in the world by Newsweek in 2008.
