The Sharjah Police have launched a probe into the deaths. They found two new blood-stained knives near their bodies.
The deceased, both in their 40s, were working as labour supervisors in a road construction contract company.
The police said that the initial investigation at the site showed that the two victims stabbed each other. However, they have not ruled out the possibility of some unknown persons planning and carrying out the double murders. Each body had eight stab wounds.
A relative of the victims told Khaleej Times that it was impossible for the two to stab each other as they were close friends and were sharing one room. "They left early morning to check on the construction site and meet the workers working under them. The duo said their morning prayers and had tea with cakes together. There was no dispute between them and they never had a fight or argument."
Earlier, the police received a call at the operations room and dispatched a team of officers from CID, forensic, crime scene, and patrol departments. The team swung into action, reached the site and found the bodies in a pool of blood due to multiple stab wounds in their abdomen.
The police shifted the bodies to the forensic laboratory and gathered evidence from the crime scene.
