According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), the country would experience ‘unstable weather’ as chances of rainfall are predicted on Saturday and Sunday also.

“The weather will remain partly cloudy in general as the clouds will increase over scattered areas, with a chance of some towering clouds and some rain,” reported the NCMS website.

Entrance to the Business Bay from Al Khail Road was covered in several inches of water as several interior roads in Dubai’s Al Wasl Area, Jumeirah and sections of the Shaikh Zayed Road near the first interchange remained water-logged.

Abu Dhabi city continued to receive rainfall on Friday morning and parts of Umm Al Quwain also experienced showers with the temperature falling to 21 degrees Celsius.

A section of Dubai Mall’s lower ground floor was also covered in rain water as a leakage was reported by mall visitors. The news was confirmed on Dubai Mall’s twitter account as a tweet read, “We have some rainwater that drizzled in but don’t worry, we are mopping it up!”

A Dubai Mall spokesperson said: “We experienced some water intake on the lower ground floor of the mall this morning with the heavy rains. The mall continues normal operations as the area is cleaned.”
