A record-breaking night at the Yasalam festival saw over 55,000 enjoy an unmissable line-up at Beats on the Beach, as the best in the world of international beats and regional tunes took the crowds to a new high.
For the second consecutive night the high speed action continued across the city as the region's biggest live entertainment got even bigger and celebrated its eighth anniversary in breath-taking fashion.
Early on Friday the carnival atmosphere of the ultimate weekend festival went into overdrive on the Corniche as families descended to experience more entertainment, more activities and more to see than ever before.
As the record-breaking crowd gathered for the unmissable festival line-up much-loved UAE-based youngster Esther Eden opened ahead of talent show heroes The5, who raised heart rates with their stage presence and youthful energy and even managed to serenade one lucky fan to their hit 'Zina'.
Next up to excite the crowds was US rapper, Big Sean who got fans jumping to 'Clique', followed by X Factor star whose unique style has become a hit across the region and set the tone for superstar Sean Paul to bring his groove to the Corniche stage. The Jamaican gave fans exactly what they wanted with hit after hit from his dancehall catalogue and brought the crowd to a frenzy with his classic 'Temperature'.
On Yas Island, The Chemical Brothers electrified the crowds
Meanwhile on Yas Island, widely regarded as one of the defining artists of modern electronic music, The Chemical Brothers made a memorable UAE debut at the second night of the Yasalam After-Race Concerts last night moving a packed crowd of 18,000 to their celebrated dance anthems.
An out of this world performance opened with the iconic anthem "Hey Boy, Hey Girl", before powering into "Galvanize" and "Block Rockin' Beats", each enthralling and moving the crowd to their own unique beat as the group's spectacular light and visual show hypnotised fans. They stood in awe as at one point a giant robot appeared on screen ensuring a totally mind-blowing immersive interactive performance like never seen before in the Capital. The award-winning duo are renowned for their electrifying and visually stunning performances and the du Arena has hosted one of the most memorable nights of live entertainment in Abu Dhabi.
A night charged with electronic energy was started by Dubai-based pair, Arcade 82 who opened the night on the main stage as part of the Red Bull opening act series.
Parties continue at Yasalam After Hours
At the late night party that is Yasalam After Hours, Sean Paul and Rita Ora added some serious star power at MAD while Paris Hilton opened for the legendary dance hero Luciano at VIP Room. Setting the tone and taking the party late into the night at Iris were HVOB and Mahmut Orhan. While house pioneer Solomun took his unique ultramodern twist to the scene with an incredible set at du Forum Crystal.

On Saturday the newly crowned Yasalam Emerging Talent Competition winner Hasan Malik will open to a packed crowd as they bask in the glory of their victory. Following on will be UAE-based favourites Bull Funk Zoo, US hip hop star Travis Scott and Lebanese singer, multi-platinum recording artist Nancy Ajram.

Globally renowned music legend Lionel Richie will make his Yasalam debut at the du Arena
At Yasalam After Hours the temperature is rising with a host of late night parties taking place across the island. At MAD Travis Scott will take his show indoors and late while Jay Sean, DJ Ono (Bangkok Invaders) and DJ PHB appear at Amber Lounge. Showcasing the star power of the festival Drake will perform at VIP Room while it's a White Dubai Experience at Iris.
Also making a welcome return to the Yas Island experience is The Village at the du Arena with a new line-up and offerings.
Opening at 6pm, before the du Arena and long after the concerts end, attendees can come early and make unforgettable memories above and beyond the race track and superstar performances. Doors open from approximately 7pm.
