A 14-year-old boy from Egypt risked his life as he lied between the railway tracks while a train passed over him. The incident took place in the province of Dakahlia.
The boy performed the stunt after being challenged by his friends to 'lie between the railway tracks waiting for the train to pass'.
The friends of the boy watched terrified as he performed the stunt. The video of the incident has been shared on the social media showing his friends lauding him for his bravery.
The incident has been widely criticized by the netizens who demanded action against the boy.
According to the Al Arabiya, lawyers said charges should be directed against his family for the gross negligence that almost killed their son. Egypt's Law No. 12 of 1996 on minors, amended by Law No. 126 of the year 2008, does not include any penalties on "neglectful families". Article 8 specifies that anyone who commits a violation against a child is to be jailed for a period of six months to three years. In the case of the child's death due to negligence, a management report is issued and reserved in respect to the feelings of the parents who lose their child.
