Rai tops at monthly
A morning of superb conditions saw a number of extremely good scores in the Orient Travel-Thai Airways Monthly Medal played at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club.
The leading score for the day went to Mukti Rai who makes a long awaited return into the winning circle; Rai posted an 85-17=68 to claim victory, managing also to keep a dreaded 7 off his scorecard for the whole 18 holes.
Second position went to Claudette Dumoulin who actually also returned a nett 68, but was narrowly beaten by Rai on a scorecard countback. Dumoulin continues to impress this year after previously winning the ladies club championships a month back.
Third spot went to George Liu who posted a nett 72 level par, an almost flawless round of golf was spoilt by a gross 8 on the par 5 4th hole at Sharjah, however Liu rallied and put his mistake behind him to finish with a gross 74, two over par.
