The Sharjah and Fujairah branches of the Our Own English High School emerged victorious in the KGS Junior Soccer Fest-Season II that was hosted by The Kindergarten Starters, Dubai, a GEMS School, from Nov 18-25. The event was supported by the UAE Inter-School Sports Association in line with the 44th UAE National Sports Day celebration held on Wednesday.
OOEHS (Sharjah) won the U-8 girls category, while the team from Fujairah were the boys champions.
Gulf Asian School (Sharjah) were the U-10 champions in the boys section. The tournament was inaugurated on Nov 18 by Darryl Bloud, Vice President, Indian Schools, GEMS.
Forty-eight soccer teams from 22 schools across the UAE participated in the tournament.
Maysoun Mahmoud Al Amiri, girls activity supervisor at the Ministry of Education, UAE, awarded trophies and certificates to all the winners.
Results: U-8 girls: Winner: Our Own English High School, Sharjah. First runner-up: Bilva Indian School, Dubai. Second runner-up: Indian High School, Dubai
U-8 Boys: Winner: Our Own English High School, Fujairah. First runner-up: GEMS Winchester School, Jebel Ali. Second runner-up: The Kindergarten Starters, Dubai
U-10 Boys: Winner: Gulf Asian School, Sharjah. First runner-up: Our Own English High School, Fujairah. Second runner-up: Our Own English High School, Sharjah
