Dubai Irish Golf Society were crowned champion after winning the Conares Golf Society League final at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club.

Match one saw Mike Robson and Martin Vertigen from the Goats take on Michael Conneely and Eoin O’Grady from the DIGS in the opening match. This match was led most of the way by the DIGS pair with Team Captain Conneely battling his good friend and scratch team colleague Robson on nearly every hole. The Goats could just not catch the lead they gave the DIGS and O’Grady sealed the match with a birdie 2 on the 17th hole to win three up.

Goats did not look fazed as there Captain Charlie Wilcox chipped in for birdie on the next to level up the match. The tone was set for the day; birdies were going to win holes.

Robert Gayle and Tom Slevin added some great golf to the game by matching each other shot for shot. The turning point for the final came on the 15th Hole were the DIGS were leading one up and Goats had six feet to level the match which narrowly lipped out. DIGS would hold on in the next two holes to close out the match two up on the 17th also.
