Blush N Curls salon and spa offers a mini getaway with tender loving care and reminds every woman the importance of self-care

Venturing into the world of beauty is a dream turned reality for Lavanya Vikram who, with support from her husband Vikram Kokane, opened the doors for Blush N Curls, a ladies salon and spa that offers professional care with organic products.
A make-up artist certified by cosmetic brands Bobbi Brown and Make Up Forever, Lavanya strongly believes in maintaining high standards of quality when catering to customers. The products used are internationally renowned and known to be vegan, paraben-free, no sulphates and formaldehyde, which add to its organic charm.
"For me, when a customer walks into a salon she needs to feel rejuvenated in every aspect, no matter what service she opts for," says CEO Lavanya, who is also a skin consultant and certified by hair treatment brands.
"Even if it's something as small as a manicure or getting her eyebrows done, she needs to feel that she's walked into a place where she feels good about herself and would be willing to visit again. Sometimes even the high-end salons fail in providing good customer service."

Setting beauty trends

Since its launch around three months ago, the salon has seen around 300 customers, many of whom are now regulars and keep coming back for exclusive hair, facial and body treatments.
Blush N Curls has separate sections for nail and hair care, body waxing, facials, massages and hamam with locker facilities. Each service is conveniently categorised to meet different needs. According to Lavanya, every customer receives complimentary consultation from a team of certified therapists who evaluate skin type or scalp prior to treatments in order to select the best option.
"We don't sell just because we have a service to sell," she says, highlighting that the salon even offers three types of depilatory botanical wax for normal, sensitive and hypersensitive skin with promise of a painless experience.

Its unique pharmaceutical facials, complemented by therapists, who are trained and certified from Poland, tend to skin problems according to skin type and age (ranging from teenagers to 45-plus women) with options called Instant Whitening, Botox Effect and Clearly Blissful.
Interestingly, it offers affordable and organic oxygen treatments for scalp and hair that guarantee results and take care of four scalp issues - hair fall, dandruff, oily and sensitive scalp, besides repairing dry damaged hair, coloured hair, etc. It also utilises organic phyto collagen and stem cells to revitalise hair.
The salon also offers eyelash extensions from an award-winning brand that is oil-proof, sweat-proof and waterproof, eliminates the need to wear mascara, and lasts for up to four weeks. Similarly, it offers eyebrow extensions for fuller brows.

Tap into your senses

Blush N Curls offers a slimming treatment called LPG Effect that uses natural ingredients, which firms the skin and guarantees at least 1cm loss from the lower part of the body in one session.
The treatment, which lasts for 70 minutes, features natural ingredients such as grapefruit, caffeine, guarana extract, caffeine, L-carnitine, Vitamin E and algae, and sees therapists make full use of their hands as well as special rubber jars to massage and break cellulite.
Exclusively for expecting mothers, the Bella Mama treatment is one designed for women from three months of pregnancy until date of delivery. "Our therapists are trained and certified to ensure a relaxing experience, and also help take care of stretch marks," says Lavanya.
Another interesting aspect is the Kahraman body ritual that involves the use of amber spheres (a fossilised resin ball) and argan oil. Lavanya explains that the popular Middle Eastern technique removes negative ions from the body and leaves one feeling rejuvenated.

Flaunt your style
Looking at nail care services, the salon offers spa manicures, pedicures, nail extensions, nail art and around 400 nail polish colours to choose from. Among these is also a halal-certified brand called Love Your Nails, and a vegan polish, Light Concept Nails (LCN). "The exclusive product is alcohol-free and allows water to penetrate through the polish and onto the nail. This allows Muslim women to pray, while maintaining a desired nail colour," Lavanya says.
With a focus on hygiene and keeping in mind the busy lifestyle of a modern woman, the salon offers individually enclosed pouches for paraffin treatments that promise to lighten tans, brighten and soften hands and feet with guaranteed anti-ageing properties. "Each pouch is warmed to perfection and infused with lavender, white and green teas, grape seed oil, cranberry, blueberry and goji berries that combats free radicals and sun damage, and leaves skin hydrated, nourished and rejuvenated," she adds.

Highlights A team of certified therapists ensures that each visitor receives consultation prior to hair, facial and body treatments. Blush N Curls has a separate menu for little princesses under 12 years with hair, nail and glam facial services. It also hosts spa dates for special occasions such as birthdays. The salon and spa also offers exclusive discounts for cabin crew and airline staff of Emirates and flydubai.

It is important to take care of skin at home with the right products to boost nourishment," she says.
Looking ahead, there are plans to introduce acid exfoliation later this year to treat skin that have scars and dents caused by acne. In addition to this, Lavanya mentions that there are plans to offer services where clients can receive luxury treatments in the comfort of their homes.
