It was heartening to learn that Sharjah schools have been told to reverse pay cuts. I hope Dubai too follows the same rule. My wife works at a private school as a teacher and head of the department. It has been 22 years, yet she receives a meagre pay. On top of this, the school decided to slash the salary to half, citing lack of funds as parents were not paying fees on time. The school has decided to enforce pay cuts until September this year. I request the school authorities to pay back the dues in full and recognise the tireless efforts of teachers. -Saifuddin S F Khomosi, Dubai
