The current bloodbath in the Middle East is escalating out of control. The circumstances in the region are unique and require a more holistic approach. Success will depend largely on a multi-dimensional perspective that brings together the energies and insights of a range of state and non-state actors, not least civil society in the Middle East, where confidence and trust building is too complex.
