What sounds do you bring to your venue? What can the crowd expect from one of your sets?
If I had to describe my sound in three words it would be cool, fresh and happy. There's really no better feeling than looking over the decks and seeing the crowd enjoying themselves. If you're coming to my New Year's Eve set at Buddha-Bar, Grosvenor House, Dubai this year - prepare for an incredible evening and bring your dancing shoes!
How does it feel to play there and in Dubai in general?
It's amazing, Dubai attracts such a diverse crowd where all different kinds of music is celebrated. I'm looking forward to getting back on the decks at Buddha-Bar for New Year's Eve - the people of Dubai really know how to party and the newly refurbished venue looks seriously cool.
What is your opinion on the UAE's DJ scene?
It's very varied, there is definitely something for everyone in the UAE. In the last few years Dubai's DJs have received more and more international recognition and there are some really talented DJs coming out of Dubai at the moment. It's exciting to see Dubai's music scene evolving and producing world-class artists.
Who are your influences and favourite artists right now?
In terms of DJs, Carl Cox is definitely up there as one of my favourites! He is so versatile - he can play a mix of disco, house or hardcore techno and his sound is something I really admire. In terms of producers, I love Disclosure and of course, the legends that are Daft Punk.
Is there a genre of music you'd never touch?
I'd never say never, but I think it's pretty unlikely that I'll ever become a Reggeaton artist!
Why?
It's just not me, I think music should always be a reflection of your personality.
What is the best type of music/ song to get the party started and one to close the night?
To get the crowd going, you can't go wrong with a song everybody knows with a good energetic beat! To close the night, I like to drop something old school, a classic, or something with a chilled out beat.
What is your ultimate musical ambition?
I just want to keep making music that people love, that's got to be the ultimate ambition for anyone in the music industry. As a DJ, seeing a venue packed full of people having an amazing time and loving your sound is one of the best feelings in the world.
