The birth of a child is always a special and rewarding moment and adds to the excitement and happiness of its parents. But this occasion turned out to be extra special for Pakistani expatriate Sidra Sana Shamas Ul Haq and her husband, when their new born was given the title of the 'First Golden Baby' at the Thumbay Hospital.
Sidra's son Mohammad Abdullah Shams was the first baby born under the two-month long unique Golden Baby campaign launched across Thumbay hospitals and clinics in the UAE in association with Kalyan Jewellers.
The campaign covers all those who book the healthcare service needed for child birth at any of the four Thumbay hospitals and clinics across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain, from October 15 to December 15.
Every booking is assured of winning a two gram gold coin and a voucher worth Dh250 for the purchase of diamonds.
"During a regular visit to my OB (Thumbay Hospital) in third trimester, the doctor informed that I could perhaps win some gold. Little did I know that my newborn would win the title of First Golden Baby. It was really magical that besides having a son, I was gifted with a gold coin. It's the first present that my boy has gifted to me. That in itself makes it special in more ways than one," said an elated Sidra.
Calling the reward her Gold Medal, Sidra said: "I will save the gold forever as a memory, and . will pass it to my daughter-in-law with a promise that she will take care of it and pass it to the future generation. It is a dear asset for our family, offering a trip down the good memory lane.
Thumbay Moideen, founder president of the Thumbay Group said: "The Golden Baby initiative is intended to support one of most beautiful and special joys of life, parenthood. We also hope that this initiative will make mothers at Thumbay Hospital feel special as they are embark on a rich and rewarding experience of having a baby."
