And the evening is marked with the thrilling 202 metre high climb over National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) Building by the world renowned Alain Robert, nicknamed Spiderman.

The Spiderman will be performing the daring fete at 4pm at the newly built NBAD Tower on the Khalifa Street, one of the tallest structures in Abu Dhabi.

The climb, apart from display of courage and determination of a brave soul, also marks the official opening of the E-education Without Borders Conference, organised by the Higher Colleges of Technology, which opens tomorrow in the Capital.

Spiderman has scaled several tall buildings of global fame and the NBAD will be the first of his fetes in the Arab world.

The authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the general public to watch the event. Traffic from the Corniche going towards Hamdan and Electra will be diverted for short time to facilitate the climb.

While the Terry Fox Run will start from the Sheraton Car Park, it will culminate at the Hilton and return to the Car Park. The marathon, held every year to raise funds for cancer treatment, is expected to be a blend of fun and a noble cause.
