"The GMC Hospital has been operational for just over five months. Within this short span, the hospital is being recognised as a place of healing," said Mr Moideen, praising the support of His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and Shaikh Majid bin Saeed Al Nauimi, Minister for Supreme Council Affairs and Chairman of the Ruler's Court, Ajman.

Mr Moideen pointed out that the card is available for Dh100 (Dh50 for children below 12 years), adding that cardholders will enjoy many privileges, including discounts on various medical services provided at the hospital.

"The health card could benefit many people in many ways, beginning with a free basic medical check-up, up to 25 per cent discount on the various services and 10 per cent discount at the hospital pharmacy," he noted.

One important feature of this card, Mr Moideen said, is that the cardholders can produce this card to avail discounts at some of the reputed hospitals in major Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Calicut, Mangalore, Cochin, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Trivandrum. It will also be accepted in Lahore and Karachi in Pakistan. Like wise, this card will be valid in all major cities in Germany, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
