The UAE is one of the safest countries in the region and the world, due to its robust law enforcement system, including the law that regulates the possession of firearms and ammunition.

Article 2 of Federal law number 4 (2013), states that possessing any type of guns, weapons or explosives without permission is prohibited, as well as importing, exporting or manufacturing.
The law includes the possession or manufacturing of fireworks and any other military-related equipment.

Possessing weapons, ammunition or explosives without permission is punishable by at least 6 months in prison and/or fine of at least Dh6,000.
