Should imams discuss current affairs?

Whether the Imams should speak on the current regional and international situations or not during Friday congregations will be a question the Federal National Council (FNC) will debate again when it convenes next Tuesday in the 9th session of the first ordinary season in the 5th Legislative chapter.

The members are getting prepared to ask a number of questions to the concerned ministers in the forthcoming session of the FNC.

The questions already on the roll pertain to issues such as environmental problems, finding jobs for unemployed national youth carrying university degrees, regulation of healthcare centres and nationalisation of the marketing of marine wealth.

Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, Minister of Culture and acting Minister of Health Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and FNC Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of Justice Dr Hadif bin Jowan Al Dhahiri and Minister of Environment and Water Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahd will attend the FNC session to answer questions.
