Mohammed Ismail, Deputy Chancellor of University of Sharjah for Financial and Administrative Affairs, who made the announcement, had recently participated at a meeting held at the headquarters of the Islamic World Charity Organisation in Kuwait. He added the meeting discussed the status of IVU and its strategic plan, indicating that the conferees plan to hold a workshop in Tunisia in December.
Ismail said the participants stressed that IVU would offer various postgraduate programmes and technical education.
The IVU project seeks to expand cooperation on education, science and culture between the universities of the Islamic world, extending boundaries of knowledge, promoting quality, especially Internet and other e-infrastructure. —
