Shaikh Hamdan invited Abdullah when he learnt about his condition through a video uploaded on YouTube.

Despite the doctors’ reports that he would not live longer due to the disease that covers his full body except one eye, Abdullah defied the odds and managed to graduate with the distinction from King Abdul Aziz University.

He currently works as a presenter on some television shows, and a journalist in the Saudi Okaz newspaper. Abdullah got married two years ago. Welcoming Abdullah, Shaikh Hamdan praised his talent and ability to defy the odds and challenges, adding that he is a role model for striving for a dignified living.

Abdullah expressed his gratitude on Shaikh Hamdan’s humanitarian gesture, which he said would further motivate him and help other peers who suffer from such difficulties. —
