Team begin preparations

DUBAI - The UAE Olympic National Team started their preparations in their external training camp at Nuremberg in Germany on Friday.

The UAE lads are preparing for the upcoming commitments including the AGCC Under-23 Championship in Qatar from July 28 to August 10 and the Asian Games in China from November 12 to 27.

The delegation took off from the Dubai International Airport on Thursday morning via Munich and from there they travelled by road to Nuremberg.

The delegation was received by the representatives of the UAE Consulate who provided all required facilities.

The official delegation is comprised of Mohammed Obaid Hammad (manager), Hilal Mohammed Al Junaibi (administrator), Mahdi Ali (coach), Hassan Al Abdouli (assistant coach), Patrice Kotard (fitness coach), Hassan Ismail (keepers’ coach), Lars Walter (analyst), Mohammed La Arabi (doctor), Mohsin Balhouz (nutrition specialist), Yousuf Sahnoun (physiotherapist), K D’Silva (Masseur), Julius J (masseur), Ali Al Saadi (photographer) and Kailani Abdul Moniem (equipment officer).

The players who have been shortlisted by the head coach Ali Mahdi are: Khamis Ismail (Enirates), Saad Suroor, Mohammed Fawzi (Al Ahli), Mubarak Hassan (Ahli Fujairah), Haboush Saleh, Amer Abdul Rahman, Zeyab Awana, Mohammed Jaber (Bani Yas), Ali Al Amri, Ali Mabkhout (Al Jazira), Abdul Aziz Sanqour (Sharjah), Mohammed Ahmed, Mohammed Marzouq, Abdul Aziz Haikal (Al Shabab), usuf Abdul Rahman, (Al Ain), Fahad Sabeel, Adnan Jameel (Al Nasr), Adel Al Hosani, Ahmed Ali,(Al Wahda), Rashid Ali and Mohammed Jamal, Saud Saeed, Rashid Eissa, Maher Jasim (Al Wasl), Khaled Obaid (Al Orouba).

Fardan, Faiz to miss out

Al Nasr’ midfielder Habib Al Fardan and Al Ain’s right winger Mohammed Faiz will miss out from the Olympic national team due to injuries. Al Fardan will fly for London for medical treatment.

Coach Mahdi have replaced them with Khaled Mohammed Rashed (Al Orouba), and Mohammed Jaber (Bani Yas). The two players united with the team in the work-out on Wednesday before they headed for Germany on Thursday.
