The AFC Champions meet Italian giants Inter Milan in the semifinal of the FIFA Club World Cup on Wednesday night after coming through the quarterfinal against UAE Pro-League champions Al Wahda. “I would rate our chances as 30 to 40 per cent with Inter at 60 per cent. But a miracle can happen with one per cent and that would be more than the 30 or 40 per cent. So, you never know. We will challenge them and I hope we get a good result. It is an important semifinal against a top team like Inter. It is an honour for us to play against them. But it is a game and we will come up with a good performance and do our very best,” Yong said.

Yong said that he had told his players to believe in themselves. “The message I gave to my players was that we may get this opportunity just once in our lifetime. We may never get this chance again. So, I told them that we should not be defeated before the game. I told them to believe in themselves and think that we can beat not just Inter, but any team, for that matter,” said Yong.

Yong said they would be looking at marking Diego Milito, Samuel Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder heavily. “(Diego) Milito, (Samuel) Eto’o and (Wesley) Sneijder are their top three. Man-to-man marking would be tough. So, we need more players to mark these three and we are focussing on that,” he said.

He said that his players have recovered after the game against Al Wahda except for a few niggles for a couple of them. “My players have recovered after the Al Wahda game and are back in good physical condition. We have watched videos of Inter and I cannot pinpoint any weakness in their team. We are still analysing them,” said Yong.
