Yas Motorcycle Racing will contest the eight-round championship at the Dubai Autodrome on 675cc Triumph Daytonas ridden by Mahmoud Tannir and Alan Boyter.

Tannir and Boyter finished fifth and sixth respectively in the 2010 championship under the Vendetta Racing UAE banner. The team’s other sponsors for the 2011 season will be

Fitness First, Motorex, Perfomance Moto, Probikes and Stuff Magazine.

Motorcycle racing is a new venture for Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and world-renowned as a spectacular track for car racing. “We want to be active in every leading branch of motorsport,” explained Richard Cregan, Chief Executive Officer of Yas Marina Circuit. “Motorcycle racing is an important part of motorsport and we are very excited to be able to support Mahmoud and Alan in this way. It’s wonderful to be involved with a great team in a highly popular series at Dubai Autodrome, one of the region’s world-class racing facilities.

“We already run our own Top Fuel drag racing team, which has just had great success on a US tour, and Yas Motorcycle Racing is a logical next step for us. Mahmoud and Alan are experienced and respected racers and we look forward to watching them ride in our trademark livery in the coming season.”

Boyter welcomed the new sponsorship. “We are really pleased to be working with such a prestigious name in the world of motorsport as Yas Marina Circuit,” he said. “We look forward to their close involvement in the championship, not just as sponsors but as people who are as passionate as we are about racing. Our Triumphs were very competitive last season and we have great hopes for 2011.”

Yas Motorcycle Racing comprises seven team members, including crew chief Aldrin Samuel, with Deborah Morrison-Tannir and Jennie Stallings managing communications and team support.
