A 42-year-old Emirati woman was killed in a road accident in the Huwailat area in Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday morning.
Col Ahmad Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, RAK Police, said the victim's sister, 38, was seriously hurt in the accident.
"Initial enactment of the road accident showed that the driver lost control over the steering wheel, veered off the road, and turned over several times."
The Central Operations Room of the RAK Police, alerted of the mishap at 11am, dispatched traffic patrols, ambulances, paramedics and rescue crews to the reported site.
"The body of the deceased, who was driving when the crash took place, was shifted to the morgue for burial by relatives."
"The injured sister was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment and medical care."
Investigations are underway to identify the reasons behind the deadly accident.
All drivers are urged to strictly observe traffic rules and regulations, mainly speed limit.
