Seminar on IT role in education
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has issued directives to organise a seminar that will look for the best ways to enhance the quality of information technology (IT) in the country’s higher education institutions.
The seminar will be held at the Dubai Police Academy on Monday and will be attended by over 120 representatives from higher education institutions.
Director of the ministry’s Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) Dr Badr Aboul Ela said the seminar will provide a broad outlook of the opportunities offered by Ankabut network in collaborating, communicating and expanding connectivity to education networks.
Ankabut provides high capacity, high-speed broadband connectivity and offers transfer of real-time services such as converged IM, voice and video communication, time-critical services, including grid computing interconnect (cloud computing).
Ankabut CEO Dr Fahem Al Nuaimi said the initiative was aimed at offering academic institutions connectivity to other education networks around the world.
