Public schools to reopen on Sept 9
The UAE Ministry of Education announced the new academic calendar for public schools on its website on Wednesday.
Teaching and administrative staff across UAE’s public schools will return to work on September 2 while classes will begin on September 9. The first semester will come to a close on December 16 as the winter break will continue till January 3, 2013. Classes for the second semester are expected to begin on January 6.
Students will have a semester break from March 31 to April 11, 2013, as the third semester will start from April 14. The academic year will come to a close on July 7, 2013. The new academic calendar is being implemented to help streamline school working timings and provide information about school opening and closing dates to families, well in advance.
