The camp will have 50 to 70 kids, between the ages of seven and ten, participating in a four-week programme that offers an interactive and education schedule of learning experiences, hands on art activities and games.

Tarané Ali Khan, consultant of the Portsmouth Group, told Khaleej Times that the Art Camp 2012 at the Farjam Collection will run through the entire month of July.

Now in its third consecutive year, Art Camp is designed to give children the opportunity to explore their creative talent while learning from some of the finest works of art. It will expose kids to arts at an early age.

Khan said this year’s theme looks at ‘the artist’, drawing inspiration from some of most iconic artists of the 20th century. Using rare and outstanding works of the modern Western art world from Farjam’s world-class private collection, Art Camp 2012 features over 40 pieces by names such as Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro. Marjam Farjam, exhibition coordinator and in-charge of the Art Camp, said that the event carries the theme, “Become Artist” during which kids will learn the portrait and figures by Pablo Picasso on the first week, landscape and nature on the second week, dreams and nature on the third week ad dreams and fantasy on the final week.

Five artists from the USA and the UAE will assist the children during the workshop session, after which all their artworks will be exhibited at Farjam Collection.
