Shaikh Humaid congratulated the graduates for their academic achievement, saying; “This event signifies that each of the students has demonstrated the required intellectual ability and the personal qualities of hard work, perseverance and accomplishment to attain a special mark of recognition.”
Addressing the gathering, Thumbay Moideen, founder president of GMU, congratulated the successful graduates. He reminded the students to “live up to the values and ideals of the alma mater”.
Dr Afra Abdul Wahid Ali and Nora Ahmed Sultan have been declared the best outgoing students from the MBBS and Bachelor of Physical Therapy streams, respectively. B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen, chairman of B.A. Group, India, gave away the Best Outgoing Student’s awards.
Several GMU graduates are successfully serving as medical professionals in the UAE, the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the neighbouring GCC countries.
The ceremony concluded with GMU Provost Prof Gita Ashok Raj taking the students through the graduation oath.
