He was arrested in July with 53kg of drugs in his baggage. In fact, the clothes in his baggage were soaked in liquid cocaine. A police officer with the Anti-Narcotics Department said that he was on duty around 1.30 am at Terminal 3 that day when he noticed the accused who was looking tensed and agitated.
The accused told him that he was coming from Sao Paulo in Brazil and denied carrying any luggage, but admitted soon after that he had two bags. When a customs inspector checked the bags, he found clothes smelling strongly of cocaine. The Criminal Lab report showed that the clothes were soaked in large amounts of liquid cocaine, which weighed 53kg. — mary@khaleejtimes.com
