Ras Al Khaimah has officially implemented the GPS bracelet system for electronic monitoring or tagging of 'house arrest' offenders.
The Ministry of Interior announced earlier this month that the Judicial Departments across the UAE had begun enforcing judicial rulings and placing convicts under 'electronic monitoring' since April of this year.
In a video posted on its Instagram account, the ministry announced its full readiness to implement these rulings, which were to enter into force after six months from the issuance of the Federal Law Decree No. 17 of 2018, issued last year by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, on the amendment of some provisions in the Code of Criminal Procedure issued by Federal Law No. 35 of 1992.
In the demonstrative video, the ministry added that two devices will be used for 'electronic monitoring' of offenders; the first is Solo, which is monitoring by satellite through GPS, LBA and 3G.????? ?????? ???? ??????
