The Court of First Instance ordered that both be deported after serving their prison terms.

The verdict is subject to appeal within 15 days at the Court of Appeal.

According to prosecution records, 23-year-old TA and his accomplice aged 25, planned the robbery in advance knowing that the complainant would carry the cash to the general trading office where she worked in Bani Yas Street in Naif on that day.

The complainant, a 25-year-old Kyrgyzstani saleswoman, told the prosecutor that she took the sum of $346,000 in the morning to her workplace to pay some clients. She heard a knock on the door and recognising the voice of her friend, TA, she opened the door. Soon, both of the defendants barged in and used a stun gun on her.

As she collapsed, TA locked the door, covered her mouth and tied her hands and feet with a telephone wire.

They fled the place after robbing the money and the woman’s mobile phone and locking the door from outside.

The woman had to wait until a client came to her help. The building security guard opened the door with a master key.

A police sergeant said that they received a theft complaint on March 13. They raided AZ’s apartment in Al Nahda after acquiring a Public Prosecution warrant. AZ was arrested and most of the money was recovered.

TA, known to be the brain behind the robbery, was arrested shortly later from near the Jumeirah Lake Towers. His flat in Tecom area was also searched.

The two have admitted to the charge in the investigation.
